Clearance overlap checks are part of the placement workload: the game needs to evaluate the hologram against structures that are already in the world. In 1.2.4.0, Coffee Stain says it improved how those checks are handled so hovering across existing buildables should behave more consistently.

The patch notes do not quantify the improvement

There is no CPU profile, frametime graph or GPU comparison in Coffee Stain's announcement. The notes therefore support a claim that a specific source of repeated stutter was targeted, not a general percentage improvement to Satisfactory's performance.

The distinction is useful in a factory builder. A frame spike caused by an interactive placement check can be noticeable even when average performance is otherwise acceptable, because the workload is triggered repeatedly as the player moves the preview through an increasingly dense scene.

How much difference that makes in a small starter factory compared with a late-game megabase is not documented by Coffee Stain.

Screen Percentage also had a bug

Patch 1.2.4.0 fixes the Screen Percentage setting not working correctly. Coffee Stain does not describe which configurations were affected.

This arrives after 1.2.3.1 updated supported GPUs to FSR 4 and adjusted texture LOD bias settings. The August patch does not announce another FSR revision.

Crash fixes extend beyond PC

The update contains fixes for FInstanceSceneDataBuffers crashes, including a multiplayer case, plus crashes associated with AFGRainAudioSubsystem and URainOcclusionWorldSubsystem.

Coffee Stain separately identifies a UFGBlueprintFunctionLibrary issue as one of the most frequent PS5 crashes and lists it as fixed in 1.2.4.0.

Other changes cover multiplayer loading, disappearing Blueprints, Dedicated Server authentication, Railroad Signals and several construction-placement behaviors.

The patch is shared across the 1.2 platforms

Version 1.2.4.0 launched on August 11 for Steam and Epic on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
